The story was great but I felt that the game was EXTREMELY bloated. It didn’t help that I played AC Origins when it was a humble monthly and had a great time because, well, I finished the game in 20 hours and therefore had more fun for that time. Yes they do but you'll need to finish the main questline before you can start the DLCs. They do add new weapons and armor which can be used in the base game, but they have to be obtained in the DLC first, which you will not be able to do for some time if you just started.
